Midfield maestro Waliat Bello scored a sensational stunning free kick to guard her team to victory against newly promoted Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) side Naija Ratels FC.

Naija Ratels lost against Nakamura FA 1-0 at the legacy pitch national stadium Surulere.

The game witnessed massive turnout of fans from both sides as they played great football.

Nakamura FA went ahead at the 11th minute through a sensational free kick from Waliat Bello, she scored from 25 meters out with a left footed strike which went over the outstretched arm of Naija Ratels FC goalie into the net.

Both teams showed great composure on the ball and created decent chances but only a lone goal separated the sides in the first half.

Waliat Bello was instrumental to her side by providing defense splitting passes to her teammates and also had great marking techniques.

Naija Ratels FC gave a good account of their team but couldn’t score against the brick wall of defense put up by Nakamura FA in the game.

Waliat Bello’s goal separated the sides as Nakamura FA ran away with the hard earned victory against a promising Naija Ratels FC.

Speaking with ECHONEWS, coach of Nakamura FA Diego Rotimi said the win was a surprise one for his team and glad with the win.

“It was a surprise win for us, We never stopped working hard for the victory, looking at the fact that my team is a grassroots team, I’m glad with the win and for the goal Waliat scored. I can tell u confidently that I had it in mind and I told her that we have to make use of our strength, which is the dead ball situation. We are also going for a tournament in Epe next week.”
