Nollywood actress and producer Funke Akindele has thrown her weight behind skitmaker and actor Kamo as his new movie, Starlomo, continues to attract attention following questions over her absence from its premiere.

Akindele addressed the issue indirectly in a social media post congratulating Kamo on the movie and encouraging her followers to see it during the weekend.

“Starlomo. Let’s go see a good movie this weekend. Congratulations, Kamo. I wish you all the best at the box office,” she wrote.

Her post comes after some fans and social media users questioned why she was not present at the movie’s premiere and had not appeared to publicly promote the project.

Some of the reactions were linked to the professional relationship between Akindele and Kamo, with some users also pointing to Kamo’s previous support for the promotion of one of Akindele’s movie projects.

However, her latest message has now made her position on Starlomo clearer, as she publicly congratulated Kamo and encouraged audiences to watch the film.

Kamo responded with appreciation, referring to Akindele as “Iyami” while thanking her for the support.

“Iyami has spoken. Iyami, thank you so much. God bless you for all you,” he wrote.

The exchange appears to have brought fresh attention to Starlomo as the movie continues its run in cinemas.
