Emotional Moses Simon Reflects On Reaching 100 Caps For Nigeria

Nigeria winger Moses Simon has pondered on his recent personal achievement of reaching the historic 100 appearances for the national team against Madagascar at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo on Friday night.
Simon, who has established himself as a key figure for Nigeria over the years, marked the milestone by reflecting on his journey in the national team and the honour of representing the country on the international stage.
“100 caps. One shirt. One country. A thousand emotions. To represent my country once is an honour. To do it 100 times is a privilege I will never be able to fully put into words,” Simon posted on his official X handle.
The Paris FC winger payed tribute to Nigeria for the trust placed in him and the opportunity to wear the national colours, saying every appearance represented something much bigger than his individual career.
“My heart is filled with gratitude. To my country, thank you for trusting me, believing in me, and giving me the incredible honour of carrying our colours onto the international stage.
“Every time I wore this shirt, I knew I was representing something bigger than myself: our people, our dreams, our pride and our beautiful nation.”
Simon lauded the support of the fans who have stood by him and the Super Eagles during tough moments.
“To the fans, thank you for every cheer, every message, every criticism, every moment you stood behind me.nYou have given me strength on the best days and lifted me on the hardest ones. I have felt your passion every time I stepped onto that pitch.”
The winger appreciated the Nigeria Press for document his journey in the national team despite the ups and downs.
“And to the media, thank you for telling the story, documenting the journey and holding me accountable throughout these years. Every headline, interview and conversation has been part of this incredible chapter.”
He acknowledged the contributions of his teammates, coaches and family for their encouragement and support all through the journey.
“To my teammates, coaches, staff, family and everyone who has walked this journey with me, this milestone belongs to you too.”
Simon described the centurion achievement as a mix of unforgettable wins, losses and lessons on the job.
“100 appearances is not just a number. It represents years of sacrifice, unforgettable victories, painful defeats, lessons, friendships, dreams and memories that I will carry with me forever. I am deeply proud. Deeply grateful. And, above all, deeply honoured.”
Simon reflected on his time in the national team and the privilege of wearing the Super Eagles shirt.
