Veteran Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has revealed that she turned down several lucrative offers, including opportunities connected to politics, which she said could have easily made her a billionaire.

The actress made the revelation while speaking on an episode of the Afropolitan podcast, where she explained that she repeatedly walked away from financially rewarding opportunities because she was unwilling to compromise her principles and beliefs.

According to Omotola, some of the offers were not necessarily wrong, but accepting them could have gradually weakened the values and message she represents.

“If I wanted to be a billionaire, I would have been one easily. Because I have been in situations where no one would have known and I would have taken things and compromised my stance. But I would turn it down and walk away. Many times. Even in politics,” she said.

The actress said there were several occasions when she could have accepted huge financial rewards by compromising her position, but she chose to walk away.

“I am talking about many times where I could have compromised my stance and got paid handsomely for it. But I said, ‘No.’ Sometimes, they are not necessarily bad things. They are just things that would just rock your foundation or belief systems,” she added.

Omotola admitted that rejecting such opportunities could sometimes be tempting, particularly when the offers did not appear obviously wrong.

However, she said she ultimately chooses to protect her principles because compromising them could eventually dilute the message she has built over the years.

“Sometimes, I am tempted to compromise because they don’t appear bad, but I would still walk away eventually. Because in the long run, it will dilute my message,” she explained.

The actress also disclosed that whenever she misses out on major financial opportunities because of her convictions, she often experiences what she described as a financial miracle.
