LASU Opens New Learning Opportunities With Certificate, Diploma Programmes
By Sherif Salau
Lagos State University (LASU) has opened fresh pathways for skills development and professional growth through a range of certificate and diploma programmes offered in partnership with LASU Consult Limited.
The university is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates seeking practical, market-relevant training that can enhance employability and career advancement. The programmes are designed to be accessible, with many running on a part-time basis to accommodate working professionals and those balancing other commitments.
Available options span a wide field of interests. Certificate courses include Tour Guiding, Real Estate and Facility Management, Social Works and Administration, French Studies, Cinematography, Make-Up, Content Creation and Development, and Professional Certificate in Transport Operations Planning and Management, among others.
Diploma programmes cover Accounting, Arabic and Islamic Studies, Christian Religious Studies, Entrepreneurship, Project Management, Gender and Development Studies, Finance, Statistics, Marine Geography and Blue Economy, and several more specialised areas. Additional offerings include programmes in Healthcare Management, Hospitality and Hotel Management, Human Capital Management, Energy Management Technology, Organic Agriculture, Criminology and Security Studies, and Crisis Management.
LASU says the initiatives are aimed at promoting skills acquisition, professional competence and manpower development across key sectors of the economy. Entry requirements vary by programme, with many certificate courses requiring a minimum of three relevant O’Level credits, while some diploma programmes have more specific criteria.
Prospective applicants are advised to visit the official LASU website for detailed admission requirements, application procedures, fees and closing dates. The programmes form part of the university’s broader effort to expand access to quality education beyond traditional degree pathways and equip learners with competencies that meet current industry needs.
For many residents of Lagos and beyond, the new openings represent a practical route to upgrading skills without the full commitment of a multi-year degree programme.
