Post Primary Elections: Lagos APC will set up reconciliation committee soon – Gani Bello

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Barrister Gani Bello has revealed that the party at the state level will soon set up reconciliation committee to reconcile aggrieved members of the party in various council areas.

Bello disclosed this during the reconciliation and consolidation meeting held at Rotary Hall, LSDPC Estate, on Friday.

According to Bello, the crucial meeting was essentially convened to engaged leaders of the party in their respective capacities on the ultimate need to work for the success of the party in the fast-approaching local government elections.

He explained that the candidature of the chairmanship and vice chairmanship candidates of the party Hon. Adebayo Olasoju and Hon. Shakir Sadiq Adeola have been confirmed by the party leaders at the state level and forwarded to LASIEC noting that the list of the councillorship candidates is expected to follow suit.

His words: “Our election results; the names of our chairmanship and vice-chairmanship candidates have been forwarded to the state and they have confirmed it and forwarded it to LASIEC. Our councillors have been sent as well and we’re optimistic that the list will be confirmed as it is. The state has said that very soon they will set up reconciliation committee. The committee will be for each of the senatorial districts; One for Lagos East, one for Lagos Central but two for Lagos West due to how large and wide the senatorial district is. One of the two will be for Ikeja and the other for Badagry area.”

Bello explained that the state chairman emeritus Otunba Henry Ajomale, the former council chairman Hon. Modupeola Oseghale and Otunba Jide Oni were unavoidably absent at the crucial meeting but couldn’t speak for others as he emphasised that all leaders were officially invited.

He, however, reiterated that the party is focused on the fast-approaching election as general LGA meeting will be convened soon and members of the campaign team for Olasoju will be constituted and inaugurated soon.

“I won’t give excuse for those you’ve mentioned who were absent, they have their reasons but all leaders were invited. I will like to emphasize on my appeal to party members that we should all come together and work for the party because after the primary we must work, someone has emerged from the primary election in one way or the other. We must come together to work and move the party forward.”

In attendance in the meeting were the former House of Representative member, Hon. Jaiyeola Ajatta, Prince Adeshina Faronbi, the Ekeerin of Isolo S.A Lawal, the former chairmanship aspirants Balogun Mojeeb Adam and Princess Olateju Olateru-Olagbegi who took turns to confirm their support for Olasoju and addressed members of the party on the utmost need to work for the party at the polls.

Other leaders in attendance include the Chairman of Tricycle Owners and Operators Association of Nigeria (TOOAN) of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Zone B Comrade Monsuru Agbabiaka (Alagba) who doubles as Mandate Leader in the council area, former party chairman Alhaji Wahab Raji, CDC chairman Hon. Segun Olatunde, immediate past CDC Chairman Alhaji Fatai Abisiga, the chairman of Ago Phase II United Forum (APUF) Prince Nixon Okwara, the Vice Chairman of PCRC Area D Hon. Adeleke Adegboyega, Elder Samuel Ogunlolu among others.
