Flamingos Dismantle Togo, Clinch Wafu-B U17 Women’s Cup Title

Nigeria U17 women’s national team have won the 2026 Wafu-B U17 Women’s Cup after winning all their five games in the six teams competition.

The Flamingos blew dismantled Togo 4-0 in their last game with a dominant performance at Yammouskro, Ivory Coast.

Skipper, Harmony Chidi set Nigeria rolling in the game as she converted a 15th minute penalty following the hacking down of playmaker, Oluwakemi Adegbuyi in the 18 yard box.

Nigeria were relentless while they continued to push forward in the game with their pressing passes.

Adegbuyi pace tormented the defense of Togo and she won the Flamingos another penalty in the 35th minute which Harmony stepped up once more to slot the ball into the net for her brace of the game.

Taking the lead to the break, Nigeria were disciplined and focused despite the two goal cushion lead.

The resumption from the break provided a breath of determination as both sides were determined to prove a point.

Oluebube Umejiaku scored a screamer from an unbelievable angle in the 67th minute to extend Nigeria’s lead against Togo.

Adegbuyi finally got her share of the cake as she scored her fourth goal of the competition and rounded up the Flamingos 4-0 win in the 90th minute.

In addition to the game, a penalty shootout was played to prepare Nigeria for the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.

The Flamingos also triumphed winning 5-4 in the penalty shootout.

Nigeria scored 17 goals in five matches and conceded two goals while they recorded five wins in five games to wrap up a convincing tournament.
