Ejigbo agog for 20th coronation anniversary of Oba Ojoola

…as Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, D’Banj, others conferred chieftain titles

It was all pomp and ceremony in Ejigbo today as the Ojon of Ejigbo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Moroof Adekunle Adisa Ojoola celebrated his 20th anniversary on throne.

The ceremony was at its peak when the Fuji crooner, King Wasiu Ayinde Marsha treated the guests to fuji music around 4:00pm.

At the ceremony, some important personnel and Ejigbo indigenous people were conferred with chieftaincy titles such as the Iyaloja General of Nigeria, Chief Mrs. Folashade Tinubu-Ojo who was conferred with the new title of Erelu of Ejigbo and Ijan land.

Equally conferred with similar title was one of the sons of the soil, Adebanji Adetayo Oguba popularly called D’Banj, who bagged the title of Aare Bobakeye of Ejigbo and Ijan Kindom, and a host of others who also bagged various chieftaincy titles.

Speaking at the ceremony, the royal father declared that his reign over the past 201 years has brought tremendous progress and development to Ejigbo in terms of socio-economic and political activities.

The Monarch maintained that the expansion of Ejigbo market (The Oba Moroof Ojoola International Market); the creation of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA); the establishment of Ejigbo Magistrate Court; the setting up of Ejigbo Divisional Police Station which has led to greater reduction in crime within the community and a host of other achievements were credited to his doggedness and effort as the Oba of Ejigbo.

He added, “Commercial activities have improved as all major banks are now situated in my town. Also, there has been a huge improvement in our recreational facilities as there are more hotels, relaxation spots, schools, event centers, and eateries.

“I have used my position as the Oba of Ejigbo to make the indigenes and non-indigenes live together in peace and harmony; the Ibo and Hausa communities have really been so wonderful as they always embrace peaceful co-existence.

“We have seen great atmosphere of mutual respect and love in this town as expressed in business interactions and inter-tribal marriages on daily basis.”

However, Oba Ojoola appreciated the National Leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the immediate pas chairman of APC, Lagos state chapter, Otunba Henry Ajomole and the Gover of the state of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for their supports towards the development of Ejigbo LCDA.
