U17 WWC: Busari Reminds Flamingos Of Bigger Challenge Ahead

By Saheed Afolabi

Nigeria U17 women’s national team head coach, Hakeem Busari, has warned the Flamingos against complacency after their 3-1 victory over North Korea secured their progression to the knockout stage of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.

The Nigerian youngsters produced an impressive performance to overcome North Korea, sealing their place in the next round and keeping their hopes of winning the competition alive.

Despite the victory, Busari insisted that the Flamingos must raise their performance level as they prepare for the challenges ahead, stressing that reaching the knockout stage marks the beginning of a more demanding phase of the tournament.

“The competition is not over. The competition has just started because going into the next round is another ball game,” Busari said.

Having secured qualification with the victory over North Korea, the Flamingos will now turn their attention to the next stage, where they will look to build on their group-stage performances and continue their pursuit of the title.

Nigeria will be aiming to translate their progress into a strong knockout-stage campaign as they seek to make a deep run in the tournament.
