Nigerian wellness advocate and content creator Osunlolu Abimbola has paid a heartfelt tribute to her late mother, Mrs Elizabeth Olufunmilayo Adejuwon, with a song titled ÌYÁ.

The title, which means “mother” in Yoruba, celebrates the bond between a mother and her child while preserving memories of the love and comfort they shared.

The song draws inspiration from Abimbola’s personal experiences with her mother and the role music played in their relationship. She would often play her guitar and sing to lift her mother’s spirits, giving her moments of happiness and helping her forget her worries.

Those memories have now become the foundation of the tribute, allowing Abimbola to honour her mother through music.

The release also carries special significance as the family remembers Adejuwon, who was born on September 23, 1960, and died on May 17, 2019. Both dates fell on a Friday, as did the remembrance observed on October 23, 2026.

For Abimbola, ÌYÁ is more than a song. It is a personal expression of love and gratitude, keeping alive the memory of a woman whose influence continues to shape her life.

Beyond its personal meaning, the tribute highlights how music can help families preserve their stories and celebrate loved ones who have passed away.

Abimbola, whose work through A3 Botanical World focuses on wellness and the relationship between people and nature, has also used her creative platform to share this deeply personal experience with a wider audience.

Listeners can stream ÌYÁ on Audiomack and watch its accompanying documentary video on YouTube through Abimbola’s platforms.
