Igando-Ikotun Chairman Celebrates Eid, Calls for Unity

The Chairman of Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area, Akinsanya Lasisi Ayinde, joined Muslim faithful on Friday to observe Eid prayers at the Egan Central Mosque Eid ground, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

 

The atmosphere at the prayer ground was filled with joy and gratitude as worshippers gathered in large numbers to celebrate Eid-el-Fitr after weeks of fasting, prayers, and spiritual reflection. The chairman was among community leaders present, identifying with residents during the important religious celebration.

 

In his message, he congratulated Muslims in the council area on successfully completing the Ramadan fast, describing the period as one of deep spiritual renewal, sacrifice, and discipline. He urged them not to abandon the lessons learnt during the holy month, but to continue living by the values of patience, generosity, and kindness.

Akinsanya also used the opportunity to call for stronger unity among residents of Igando-Ikotun. He emphasised that peace and cooperation remain essential for the growth and development of the community, urging people to look beyond differences and work together for the common good.

 

He further encouraged residents to support efforts aimed at improving the area, noting that sustainable development can only be achieved when the people are united and committed to progress.

 

The chairman concluded by wishing all Muslim faithful a joyful and peaceful Eid celebration before departing to continue the festivities with family and well-wishers.
