A man who identified himself as the uncle of gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as ToluwaniSings, has called for an impartial investigation into the singer’s death, warning against interference or attempts to conceal relevant details.

The man, Lawal Ademola, made the appeal in an interview with Dunmininu Kingdom, posted on Facebook on Monday.

He urged the government, community leaders and law enforcement authorities to ensure that the investigation was conducted fairly, with nobody protected from scrutiny or unfairly targeted.

“Please help us, our elders, as we seek a proper investigation into the death of Sodiq. You who are the government, our leaders, and the law, please enforce the law and empower the investigation so that there won’t be biased judgments or victimisation,” he said.

“Nobody should interfere or try to cover things up regarding Sodiq, because this has deeply affected us,” he added.

In a separate video, Ademola recounted visiting ToluwaniSings’ residence, where he said some family members were watching television when he arrived.

He also spoke about disagreements over the singer’s burial arrangements, saying he had proposed that the singer be buried at the home where he lived with his wife and children.

According to Ademola, the singer’s wife opposed the suggestion, saying she would find it difficult to see her husband’s remains at the house regularly, particularly with the children present.

He said other relatives subsequently proposed taking the body to Ikirun for burial, but the wife also objected, describing the location as too far away.

Ademola referred to the singer as Sodiq, the name he was given at birth in his Muslim family.

ToluwaniSings’ death has attracted public attention, with questions raised about the circumstances surrounding his final hours. His family reportedly confirmed his death on October 14, 2026, while earlier reports alleged that he was taken to eight hospitals before he died.

The call for an impartial investigation comes amid public discussion of the case. The allegations surrounding the circumstances of his death have not, in the information provided, been established by an official investigation.
