Nigerians Urge Davido, Wizkid to End Rivalry After Viral Wedding Video

Nigerians have called on Afrobeats stars Davido and Wizkid to resolve their longstanding rivalry after a video of Davido vibing to Wizkid’s hit song Ojuelegba went viral on social media.
Davido was captured enjoying the song at the wedding of fellow singer Zlatan Ibile in Lagos over the weekend, prompting reactions from fans who expressed hope that the moment could signal an end to the tension between the two music stars.
The singers’ rivalry has played out over the years through online exchanges, competition and disagreements involving their respective fanbases, Wizkid FC and 30 Billion Gang, popularly known as 30BG.
Reacting to the video on X, several users urged both artistes to put their differences aside, while others questioned whether the perceived feud was genuine or had been amplified by social media and fan rivalries.
A user, @Beejay_0822, wrote, “Make dem settle this beef abeg make dem give us better Gbedu abeg.”
Another user, @MustyFelix7, said, “I wish they settle their beef.”
Expressing a different view, @Amadi96123697 suggested that fans might be fuelling the tension, writing, “This men no really get issues na una wey be fans dey stress una selves.”
Similarly, @13Kobrex speculated that the rivalry might be staged for social media attention, writing, “My mind dey tell me say their beef na script aswr.”
Another user, @idarajune, said, “Really hope they resolve their issues and settle. The mutual admiration they had for each other was beautiful.”
Calling for a possible musical collaboration before the singers retire, @ShegunChelsea wrote that fans deserved to enjoy them together musically and see their friendship restored.
Meanwhile, @HuseinWiz, who identified with Wizkid’s fanbase, also called for an end to the hostility, writing that there should no longer be hatred towards Davido.
Neither the viral clip nor the reactions establish that the singers have reconciled. However, the moment has renewed calls among some fans for the two stars to move beyond their rivalry and potentially work together.
