Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has commended Tiffany Amber for its resilience and contributions to the growth of Nigeria’s fashion industry.
Sanwo-Olu felicitated the founder of the fashion firm, Folake Coker, on her 25th anniversary in the industry.
At the recent event held at Eko Atlantic City, Victoria Island, Lagos, the Governor acknowledged the contributions of the fashion guru. He said: ” Today’s celebrant pioneered Nigeria’s first ready-to-wear fashion label when the brand was launched in November 1998.
“This occasion, one of the longest in recent years, mirrors the brand’s ambition to compete globally. It’s presents an avenue where we can create an ambiance that allows businesses, particularly in the creative sector, to flourish, do well, and grow,
“Fashion is not just part of the creative industry but also a crucial component of Lagos State’s tourism ecosystem, which Tiffany Amber has really contributed to.”
On the importance of the fashion industry and how the state government will improve it’s welfare, Sanwo-Olu said: “Lagos State Government is dedicated to supporting the creative industry, which will in turn improve the state’s economy and cultural influence.
“The creative industry is one that the Lagos State Government is firmly committed to, offering our support through policies, choice of appointments, programs, and, where possible, financial backing to ensure the sector’s growth.”
Reacting, Coker said: ” I thank all who have supported Tiffany Amber and contributed to the brand’s journey from Lagos to the world stage.
“Our story has been written with resilience, brilliance, and elegance, and Lagos is where it all began. Lagos is where it will forever remain.
“Tiffany Amber’s success is proudly Nigerian and deeply connected to its roots.”
