The Supervisor for Environment in Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Akin Falana, has led officials of the Environmental Department on an extensive sanitation exercise across different parts of the council area as part of efforts to promote a cleaner, healthier and safer environment for residents.

The exercise focused on the evacuation of refuse from designated collection points to reduce environmental hazards, improve sanitation standards and safeguard public health.

During the operation, waste gathered from various locations within the local government was transported and disposed of at the Olusosun Dump Site in Ojota. The exercise was facilitated by waste compactors procured by the administration of the Executive Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson, to strengthen waste management and environmental sanitation efforts across the council.

Speaking on the initiative, the council reiterated its commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy environment through regular sanitation exercises, efficient waste disposal systems and sustained community engagement.

Residents were also encouraged to complement the government’s efforts by adhering to proper waste disposal practices and actively participating in initiatives aimed at keeping communities clean and environmentally friendly.

The local government assured residents that it would continue to invest in measures that enhance environmental sustainability and improve the overall quality of life across Alimosho.
