Portable Challenges Terry G to Celebrity Boxing Match
Controversial Nigerian singer, Portable, has challenged fellow artiste Terry G to a celebrity boxing match, saying he wants the veteran musician as his next opponent.
Portable made the declaration during an interview on Channels Television’s Rubbin’ Minds on Sunday.
When asked which celebrity he would like to fight next, the singer did not hesitate in naming Terry G.
“Me, I want to fight Terry G,” he said.
The interviewer then asked if he was referring to social media personality Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), but Portable insisted that Terry G remained his preferred opponent.
“Is Terry G that I want to fight. I won blow am. I want to resurrect his career. If Terry G fight me one on one in boxing, I swear to God, he will rise again. People will remember him again,” Portable said.
His comments have since generated reactions on social media, with fans expressing surprise over the call-out.
Portable is no stranger to celebrity boxing, having stepped into the ring against actor Charles Okocha, singer Speed Darlington and skit maker Carter Efe in recent years.
Terry G, widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s biggest street music stars, rose to prominence in the late 2000s with hit songs such as Free Madness, Akpako and Run Mad.
