The newly elected executive members of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Area D, Aswani Division, have promised to work hand in hand with the police to fight criminal activities in the community.

Speaking during their inauguration at the weekend, the elected chairman of the committee, Adegboyega Adeleke, said the police worked on information and the committee was read to reveal the needed information to the police to help them in their job.

The chairman explained that the PCRC is to bridge the gap between the Police and the citizens, and to support the police in fighting crimes in the environment and as well provide logistics for the police, saying the police cannot do it alone.

“So, the PCRC is to assist the police in fighting crime and provide information as and when due and to provide a constructive criticism where necessary,” he said.

He however urged all other executive members and the residents to be consistent to ensure a crime free community.

Addressing the executive members, the Aswani Divisional Police Officer (DPO), CSP Oyin Francis after leading them in taking the oath of office, told them to be up and doing and give the police the needed support to make the community crime free.

The Area D Command Chairman, Alhaji Rafiu Ajibaye commended the peaceful nature of the election as he urged the newly elected officers to live up to the task of their respective offices and as well to cooperate with the divisional chairman towards achieving an appreciative tenure.

Also, the chairman of election committee, Engr. Ogungbe, urged the residents of the community to support the incoming chairman while admonishing the newly elected executive members to work in harmony.
