A crusade by Rev. Ache Okereke to persuade his daughter, Chioma to return home is at the center of an alleged abduction case against a Muslim brother and fashion designer, Sadiq Moruf before the Magistrate Court, Ejigbo presided over by Magistrate Akeem Fashola.

Narrating his case before the court, Rev. Okereke said he has been searching for his daughter, Chioma, for five years.
His words: “For the past five years, I have been looking for Chioma and did not see her until last week when information got to me where Sadiq was hiding her and have changed into Muslim faith. She was rescued and Sadiq was arrested by the Police and detained at the station.”
But Chioma, his daughter rose to her lover’s defence, by stating that that Moruf did not abduct her and that they were lovers for years and had agreed to marry.
She told her father face to face at the Ejigbo Magistrates court that she was bound by the relationship and already carrying Sadiq’s baby
The Court learnt that Chioma and her father had disagreed at the Igando Police division from where the case was moved to court.
Echonews gathered that, 19-year-old Sadiq, and 17-year-old Chioma have been dating for the past five years. Chioma has reportedly abandoned her education at secondary school level and started living with Moruf who is a fashion designer.
Chioma’s father disclosed that all his attempt to get her back home to continue with her education proved futile.
However, the police charged and arraigned Sadiq before the court sitting with the alleged offence.
Magistrate Fashola declined to take Sadiq’s plea and referred them to family after which he was taken back to the Igando station where he will be taken to the family court as ordered.
