Flamingos Tactician, Busari Focuses On Impact Of Wafu-B U17 Triumph On Players

Nigeria U17 women’s coach, Hakeem Busari is satisfied with the positive impacts of the Wafu-B U17 Women’s Cup on his players after a grilling competition held at Yammouskro, Ivory Coast.

The Flamingos had a scintillating run in the Wafu-B U17 Women’s Cup as they defeated all their opponents to emerge champions of the regional showpiece.

Busari said the team isn’t going to rest on their laurels while they have the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup ahead of them.

“It is a good one that we won, but we will never rest because the game is about learning and learning,” he said at the post-match press conference.

The experienced gaffer believes the purpose of the age grade tournament is to foster the development of the youngsters and expose their experience of the game against other nations.

“The memory we will keep in our minds is that this competition is for the youth within the continent, trying to showcase what they have, and everyone has shown their differences.”

Busari added, the team will get back to the drawing board and work harder in order to strengthen their performance and work on their weaknesses.

“We still want to work more, just like other countries will also work as well, because in football, there is a place for strong points and outright deficiencies as well.”

The Flamingos will build on their success at the regional showpiece and head to the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup with a renewed vigor.
