The chairman of Odi-olowo Ojuwoye LCDA, Mr Rasaq Ajala has lauded the success and achievements of Nigeria U17 head coach, Bankole Olowookere.

The council boss said he’s very proud of Olowookere because he he’s a product of the community who have gone to achieve success amidst national and international accolades.

Ajala said the Flamingos gaffer is a reputable ambassador of the land who will inspire and motivate the youths of Odi-olowo Ojuwoye and Mushin in general to embrace noble professions.

“It’s a good development to welcome one of our own, a brother and a man that has been using his vantage position to turn the football world positively. To project Odi-olowo Ojuwoye LCDA and by extension Mushin to the World and to change the negative narrative about us out there that we are only synonymous to negativity.

“With Coach Olowookere, you will agree with me that we have a lot of people in different spheres of life that are making their mark and of course our brother have chosen to use football as a point of reference of what Mushin can do in that space.

“It gladdens my heart to welcome him to his root and secretariat, I said his secretariat because we see him as an integral part of us. Like I told him, there’s no way he can write his trajectory or his sojourn in this World without recourse to Ilupeju or Odi-olowo Ojuwoye or Mushin. He happens to be a product of public schools both his primary and secondary and the public schools were been funded by the State and Local Government.

“This will inspire and motivate the youths to know that beyond social vices, there are a lot of noble professions they can embrace that will contribute to their realization of their economic growth.”

Flamingos head coach, Olowookere is excited over the show of solidarity from Odi-olowo Ojuwoye LCDA while highlighting how he started his humble beginnings from the community before becoming a national figure.

“It’s a very good thing for me to be welcome back home, I’m so delighted with this.

“In life you must have a root, to a Christian there’s Genesis, without Genesis there’s no revelation. People might see me outside the World there and be celebrating me today but there will never know that this is the community that produced Bankole.

“I’m so grateful and happy coming back home. I felt it’s good of me to come and give back to the society that groomed me and let the whole World know about me. It’s a complete homecoming for me and I’m so delighted.

“The honorable chairman has been doing a marvelous job in every area especially sports and I’ve heard a lot of the positive impact he have in the live of young ones through sport.

“I’m assuring you that in few years from now, you will see many of Bankole Olowookere from this community who will go out there to have a positive impact to the World.”
