Isolo residents agitate for prepaid meters

Following the metering exercise going on at Jakande Estate, the residents of Isolo have charged Ikeja Electric (IE) to give them prepaid meters as a matter of urgency.

Initially, the Chairman of Oluwalogbon Community development Association (CDA), Alhaji S. A. Ramon, has told the residents of Isolo that the distribution company has promised to make the prepaid meters available to some parts of the community.

He said the company, in a recent meeting held with the CDC executives, noted the agitation of the people, while explaining that the distribution of the meters is based on routine.

He said there are various areas lined up for the meters, noting that the company explained that it would be the turn of Isolo community this year.

Echonews noted that there have been protests against Ikeja Electric in many communities across Oshodi-Isolo for not making the prepaid meters available as they claim that they are being cheated with the estimated billing system.

However, Ramon craved the indulgence of the residents, urging them to be patient at least for the time promised.
