Court Remands Man For Stealing Cow

A litigant identified as Abdulahi Musa has been remanded in prison custody following his guilty plea to an accusation of cow theft.

Musa, 24, was arrraigned at the Badagry Magistrates’ Court on Friday where the Police Prosecutor, Inspector Ayodele Adeosun, mentioned that he stole the item valued at N600,000, thereby, contravening Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State.

Adeosun narrated further that that the defendant, who is on a count charge of stealing, stole the cow which belongs to one Taiwo Azonadu, the complainant on April 15 at about 5pm in Kweme Bush area, Badagry.

The Presiding Magistrate, Lazarus Hotepo, ordered that the defendant be kept at the Awarjigor custodial facility in Badagry pending a review of the facts of the case and sentencing.

He adjourned the case until May 8.
