The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested Lagos-based socialite and businessman Afolabi Kazeem Michael, popularly known as KC Luxury, over an alleged international cocaine trafficking operation involving a 184.5kg consignment valued at about N39 billion.

KC Luxury was arrested on the night of August 13, 2026, at the boarding gate of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, while allegedly attempting to leave Nigeria on a business-class flight to Paris.

The NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.), disclosed the development during a press briefing in Lagos on Tuesday, describing the operation as one of the agency’s significant narcotics investigations in recent times.

According to Marwa, the investigation began following the interception of 184.5kg of cocaine concealed in a consignment being processed through a courier logistics channel in Lagos. The agency said the seizure was the largest cocaine seizure from a courier company in its history.

The agency also arrested Lawal Mujab Kehinde, an employee of the logistics company allegedly involved in processing the consignment.

Marwa said investigations allegedly identified KC Luxury as the Nigerian coordinator or “arrowhead” of an international cocaine trafficking network using Nigeria as a transit route for shipments destined for the United Kingdom, Europe and Asia.

At the time of his arrest, NDLEA operatives reportedly recovered €7,750, £2,800 and N100,000 in cash, as well as expensive jewellery. A subsequent search of his luxury apartment in Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos, also led to the recovery of exotic vehicles, according to the agency.

Marwa said the cartel had hoped to realise about N39 billion from the consignment through its international distribution network.

He added that investigations were ongoing to unravel the wider network and identify other individuals connected to the alleged trafficking operation.

The NDLEA chairman warned that the agency would continue to pursue drug traffickers regardless of their social status or public profile, stressing that luxury lifestyles would not shield suspects from investigation and prosecution.
