Popular Nigerian Fuji disc jockey, Kudirat Gbemisola, popularly known as DJ Kulet, has revealed that she once lived as a sex worker before turning her life around.

The DJ made the disclosure while giving a testimony during a church service on Sunday, in a video that has since gone viral on social media.

Speaking during the service, Kulet said she was widely known in the Surulere area of Lagos for both her DJ career and her past lifestyle before she became a Christian.

“I just want to say thank you Jesus because my story here in Surulere was a very bad one. Everybody knows me because I grew up in Lawanson. But I repent, and God removed me from the gutter,” she said.

She later took to her Instagram page to share more details about her journey, describing how her life has changed over the years.

According to her, she once struggled with homelessness and survived by “sleeping around” before gradually improving her living conditions through relationships and later her DJ career.

Kulet recounted moving from a “face-me-I-slap-you” apartment to a self-contained room, and eventually to a larger apartment, despite facing challenges such as poor living conditions.

She said her breakthrough came when her DJ career began to yield better income, eventually enabling her to secure improved accommodation.

The DJ added that in April last year, she was able to acquire her own house in Surulere, which she described as a major turning point in her life.

Kulet said the transformation, which she shared publicly as a testimony, reflects her journey from hardship to stability.

The entertainer had previously disclosed in 2025 that she experienced abuse from a family member during her early years.
