More outpour of gratitude and acceptance has continued to trail the well-coordinated distribution of backpacks on the premises of public primary schools across Isolo LCDA by the council boss, Olasoju Adebayo after the pilot outing on Tuesday.
As usual, Olasoju’s distribution team led by the Secretary to the Local Government, Mr. Sikiru Adesina Salisu set out on their mission accompanied by Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Education Authority, District VI officials with vans loaded with consignments of the backpack and making stops at programmed schools to fulfill his promise and ultimately put smiles on the faces of pupils.
On Wednesday, Akinbaye, Ansar-Ud-Deen, Estate, and Local Government Primary Schools were touched while Ire-Akari Estate Model, St. Paul’s Anglican, Gbeleyi, and Farombi primary Schools were visited on Thursday.
Thursday’s outing was spectacularized by the impromptu enrolment of a female pupil – Blessing Johnson whose mother, Mrs. Adebola Johnson who works as a casual staff with St. Paul’s Anglican Church found herself in a helpless situation when Blessing was sent home from her private school for fee-defaulting.
On Friday, attention shifted to Ilasamja ward of the council area with Ilasamaja Primary School situated in the remote Okomola part of the community beating such other schools as Kusoru and Olokun Primary schools to the day’s order of distribution. Pupils as well as teachers of Ilasamaja Pry Sch. betrayed their excitement when the convoy of vehicles breezed into their school compound as they enthusiastically received the team.
The headmistress, Mrs. Iwuoma C. Victoria, was unsparing in her words describing the council boss’ gesture as highly commendable adding that parents and staff of the school are eternally grateful to the council boss for his efforts towards ensuring that their wards get quality education.
“The school has recorded a surge in number of new pupils in the last few days as many parents have had to withdraw their children from private school owing to the admirable gesture of the council boss to provide the much-needed educational support. Some parents have indicated their readiness to witness the distribution in order to physically express their appreciation” said Mrs.Iwuoma Victoria.
The team then headed to Olokun and Kusoru Pry Schools in the same compound on Godwon Way where both schools brought the number so far visited to 12 out of the 14 schools that are domiciled in the council area with only Dele Ajomale and Ire-Akari Pry. Schools left.
