Why lawn tennis attracts more players at Adejumo Sport Center, Ejigbo

Adejumo Lawn Tennis Club and Sport Center houses four different types of games which are lawn tennis, table tennis, squash and badminton.

Lawn tennis is the favorite game among the sport men at the club though the game is mostly enjoyed when it is not raining.

There are three types of court at the centre which are clay court, grass court and hard court.

The hard court is mostly used by the players.

When it rains, the players move to play table tennis, badminton and squash.

Speaking with ECHONEWS, the former assistant captain of the club, Babatunde Adebayo, affirmed that lawn tennis is the favorite game among the players at the club.

According to him, table tennis serves as the option for players who are not able to play at the lawn tennis court, adding that table tennis is played during the rainy season because of the unavailability of lawn tennis.

“Table tennis is situated beside the lawn tennis court and it has a shade over it so that sportsmen can enjoy the game when it is raining.

“The badminton and squash courts are located inside one of the buildings inside the sport center. These also attract interest of the sport men during when it is raining just like table tennis.

“Competitions in lawn tennis are held in the month of January every year to avoid the rainy  season.

“The sport center looks scanty during the week but always filled up at the weekends as members of the club come with their families to play lawn tennis,” he explained.
