The Director, Administration and Human Resources, Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Central Business Districts (CBD), Mr. Ishola Rahman has attributed the delay in the payment of three months allowance of the operatives of the Central Business District to the expiration of tenure of the former Head of the Agency.

He said this at a meeting with the opratives as he reiterated the commitment of the State Government to improve theirwelfare.

He said his office had re-presented the application of their payment for approval to the Governor.

Assuring that approval for the payment of three months allowances is being given the speedy attention that it deserves, he appealed to all operatives to continue to be patient, urging them to be more dedicated and resolute in the discharge of their duties within the CBD enclaves despite the delay.

Rahman stated this today while addressing the Lagos Island CBD operatives at its operational office, assuring them that the State Government is doing everything humanly possible to ensure that allowances of the operatives are paid regularly as and when due.

Meanwhile, the Office has intensified the clearing of shanties and makeshift shops along the Marina axis of Lagos Island.  Also, illegal shops extended onto the roads within the Idumota and Balogun markets have been removed with a warning to others across all markets to stop further erections of illegal structures.
