The Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA) has declared the kick-start of its partnership with the Lagos State Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) towards ensuring the security of commuters and the Blue Line Rail.

The General Manager of LNSA, Prince (Dr.) Ifalade Oyekan, FISN, stated this during the weekend tour of facilities of the Blue Line Rail as the Lagos State Government flags off the commencement of rail transportation.

According to him, the tour is aimed at fine-tuning the details of the partnership which is part of the efforts to ensure the safety and security of passengers as well as facilities. “Our Agency entered into a partnership with LAMATA to provide basic security for the passengers and their goods while waiting to board the train and on-board the train through our Rail Marshals”, he said.

He explained that LNSA officers known as “Rail Marshals” will always be at the Rail Stations and on board with passengers on their trips to provide support for the Rail staff, ensure the safety of passengers and checkmate any form of security breach among passengers on the train.

Prince Oyekan maintained that the presence of the well-kitted “Rail Marshals” would send a warning and clear message to any miscreant or hoodlum who might want to behave badly in and around the Station and on board the trains.
