Colombia striker, Valerin Loboa has credited her side’s quarter final win against Nigeria to the team’s determination at the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.

Loboa 90th minute strike confirmed the Falconets exit from the competition at the Stadion Miejski LKS Lodz, Poland.

Kafayat Mafisere red card in the 77th minute paves way for the Colombians to find their rhythm and come into the game before striking the Falconets at the death of the game.

Loboa showed her excitement of scoring the only goal of the match and getting to the last four of the tournament.

“I’m very happy about scoring, but if any other player had scored, I would be just as thrilled as I am now,” she said.

She stated, Colombia played to tactical instructions of their coaches and were convinced they will score.

“These matches are all about details, and we had constant faith that the goal would come.”

Nigeria’s run at the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup have come to an end while Colombia advances to the semifinal.

The Falconets dream of getting to the semifinal since the 2014 edition was thwarted by a late Loboa strike which shattered their dreams.
