Apply: WomanKind Creative Grant 2027 Offers $15,000 in Branding Support
Women’s health startups worldwide can now apply for the WomanKind Creative Grant 2027.
This is an initiative offering professional brand strategy and design services valued at US$15,000 to a selected company seeking to strengthen its market presence and expand its impact.
The programme, organised by WomanKind Alliance and sponsored by creative agency Alfa Charlie, aims to help innovative businesses in women’s healthcare build stronger brands, communicate their missions effectively and improve their visibility among customers, investors and other stakeholders.
Applications are open to startups globally, including eligible businesses founded in Africa, with the deadline set for November 1, 2026.
About the WomanKind Creative Grant
The WomanKind Creative Grant supports companies developing solutions to challenges in women’s health by providing access to professional branding expertise that might otherwise be financially out of reach.
Rather than offering direct cash funding, the initiative provides a six-week design partnership worth US$15,000. The selected startup will work with creative professionals to develop or improve its brand strategy, visual identity and essential business communication materials.
The 2027 programme is expected to commence in mid-January 2027, giving the successful company an opportunity to strengthen its identity as it prepares for its next phase of growth.
Benefits of the Grant
The selected startup will receive a comprehensive package of branding and design services, including:
Brand strategy development: A six-hour workshop covering the company’s core values, target audience, competitors, market positioning, unique strengths and brand personality.
Visual identity design: Professional development of a cohesive visual identity, including a logo, colour palette, typography recommendations and other visual elements. The company will also receive a Brand Compass Book to guide its branding decisions.
Business and marketing materials: Design support for priority assets such as pitch decks, packaging and other materials needed to present the company’s products or services professionally.
Follow-up consultations: Three additional consultations to review the implementation of the new brand identity, provide feedback and address questions that arise during the process.
The full package is provided at no cost to the selected company, with the total value estimated at US$15,000.
Who Can Apply?
The opportunity is open to startups developing innovative products or services aimed at improving women’s health. Although businesses at different stages of development are welcome, the grant is particularly suited to early-stage and Series A companies preparing for expansion or seeking a comprehensive brand refresh.
Eligible businesses may operate in areas such as reproductive health, menstrual health, diagnostics, healthcare access and other aspects of women’s healthcare, including femtech innovation.
Applicants should demonstrate a clear understanding of the health challenge their business addresses, the value of their solution and the role stronger branding could play in advancing their objectives.
Applications will be assessed based on factors including:
- Originality: The uniqueness of the company’s approach to women’s health challenges.
- Potential impact: The difference its product or service could make.
- Clarity of purpose: How effectively the company communicates its mission and value proposition.
- Problem understanding: The founders’ knowledge of the challenge they intend to solve.
- Branding needs: The potential benefit of professional brand strategy and visual identity development.
International founders, including those based in Nigeria and other African countries, are eligible to apply. However, applicants should be prepared to participate in meetings scheduled during the organisers’ standard business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.
How Many Startups Will Be Selected?
WomanKind generally selects one primary recipient for its Creative Grant in each award cycle. Although additional support, such as microgrants or strategy workshops, may occasionally be offered to other applicants, these are not guaranteed.
All applicants are expected to be invited for a 30-minute video call by mid-December 2026. The main recipient is expected to be notified by December 31, 2026, while other applicants should receive updates in early January 2027.
The selected startup should be ready to begin the six-week design partnership in mid-January 2027.
