Tears Flow as Late NURTW Leader Toba Ajiboye ‘Toba Ijaya’ Is Laid to Rest in Ketu

There was an outpouring of grief in Ketu, Lagos, as family members, friends, associates and members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) gathered to bid a final farewell to the late Lagos State NURTW Executive Member, Toba Ajiboye, popularly known as Toba Ijaya.

 

The burial ceremony was marked by deep emotions as mourners paid glowing tributes to the deceased, describing him as a committed union leader whose contributions to the transport sector and the welfare of members would not be forgotten.

Tears flowed freely as colleagues, relatives and well-wishers reflected on his life, legacy and impact on the union. Many offered prayers for the peaceful repose of his soul and for strength for the family to bear the loss.

 

The large turnout of sympathisers at the ceremony underscored the respect and affection Toba Ijaya commanded within the transport union and the Ketu community.

His death had earlier sparked widespread reactions among transport workers and residents, with many expressing shock over the loss of one of the union’s prominent leaders.
