Sanwo-Olu Commends NLC Peaceful Protest, Assures Workers of Better Days Ahead
Lagos state governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has commended the Nigeria Labour Congress for its peaceful protest in the metropolis of Wednesday.
The workers had staged a protest against hike in the price of fuel as they seek better palliative to ameliorate their current suffering.
Sanwo-Olu who was represented by the state deputy governor told the protesting workers that his government and Federal government would address the issues.
Speaking to the workers who stormed the office of the governor early Wednesday, Sanwo-Olu said, “We have heard you. A lot of things have been said. And the letter has been given to me. What we all want is a better Nigeria. And I am sure we will get there.
He said since the leadership of the workers had called for dialogue, “we will dialogue and hence, very soon you will hear from us.,” Though majority of the protesters listened to Hamzat, some others also jeered at him while many grumbled in disagreement with his statements.
