Owode Decent Gent Ramadan Football Competition Commences In Ikorodu

The Owode Decent Gent in Ikorodu Division has kicked off the 3rd edition of the Ramadan Football Competition, sponsored by Prince Eniola Adeyemi, popularly known as Wake-Up. The event, which commenced on Saturday, March 16th, promises to be a thrilling showcase of local talent, with 16 teams from the community vying for victory.

Alhaji M.A Sulaimon, the Personal Assistant on Political Matters to Senator Tokunbo Abiru, had the honor of officially inaugurating the tournament, marking the beginning of what is anticipated to be an exhilarating series of matches.

The competition, which follows the success of last year’s edition, aims to provide a platform for youth engagement and foster a sense of camaraderie and unity within the community.

Adeyemi (Wake-Up) underscored the importance of initiatives like the Ramadan Football Competition in bringing young people together and creating a positive environment for social interaction.

He emphasized the significance of nurturing a spirit of brotherhood and unity as a means to combat social vices and promote a safer and more cohesive community.

“This competition is just one of many ‘Wake-Up’ Projects to come,” stated Hon. Eniola Adeyemi, highlighting his dedication to making a meaningful impact in the community through various initiatives aimed at empowering youth and promoting social cohesion.”

The fixtures for the upcoming games promise to deliver an exciting display of football prowess and competitive spirit. The subsequent fixture in March include the match between Exclusive Connect FC and Amazing FC, Owode Central FC and Itun-Layode FC, Aga FC and Young Star FC, as well as Joko Agba FC and Tobalashe FC.

The action continues the following week with clashes between Itamaga FC and Obafemi FC, Young Money FC and Abe Soccer Team, Famous FC and Ladega FC, and Anifowose FC and Alara FC.
