Professor Tajudeen Yusuf delivered a short lecture before the kickoff of the encounter as he urged the football players to not just play the beautiful game of football but use football to propagate Islam and bring more people to the religion of peace.

The Mulikudeen Team side dominated the first half proceedings of the game as they went two goals up leaving the Ayegbesin Team off guard.

The Ayegbesin Team showed composure and never relented in their pursuit of coming back in the game as they equaled the score line in the second half to force the game into extra time, which didn’t record any goal for both sides as it went straight into penalty shootout.

The Mulikudeen Team recorded a 5-4 penalty shootout win in dramatic fashion as they were crowned the champions of the Oshodi Wakil’s Cup 2022 edition.
