Only God knows the next council chairman – Shammeh

Following the report going round that the people of Ilasamaja area of Isolo were agitating to produce the next chairman of the Local Council Development Area (LCDA) after the expiration of the current administration, the incumbent chairman of the local council, Hon. Shamsudeen Olaleye has said that he is not in the position to tell or choose the next chairman, saying only God knows the best person to occupy the seat.

Reacting to the insinuation, Olaleye said he was not unaware of the deafening chants about Ilasamaja producing the next council chairman of Isolo LCDA in line with equity and justice; declaring that neither he nor anybody could make that happen but only the almighty God who gives power to whom He pleases.

He therefore advised critical stakeholders of Ilasamaja to look up to God but not rely on anyone to make it a reality.

He also advised the stakeholders to close ranks and look for someone with vast experience within the current administration to take Ilasamaja to the next level.

Meanwhile, Alhaji Semiu Ramoni, one of the community leaders commended the council boss for engaging the CDAs on various aspects of governance at this auspicious time.

He urged the chairman to bridge communication gaps between the council and the communities by mandating elected and appointed representatives in the council to update their communities with useful information to stem misinformation and misconceptions.
