As the residents prepare to hold the maiden edition of Oke-Ogbere Community Day Celebration, the Baale, High Chief Tajudeen Amoo Orilowo, has said that the week-long celebration will reunite indigenes at home and abroad and mobilise residents to promote the Oke-Ogbere link bridge that is undergoing construction.

Speaking with ECHONEWS, the chief noted that the indigenes of the community resettled back to the community in the mid 80s having been forced to flee at the break out of an ignorantly caused crisis by the last Baale Raimi Otapo whose lawsuit against the Osoru family was nullified in 1957.

“The link bridge that now connects us to the other parts of Ogbere and other neighboring communities is another great reason to celebrate our community as the celebration is also to promote the cultural heritage of the community.”

Ogbere community shares border with Isolo, Amuwo-Odofin, Ejigbo, Egbe and Isheri Olofin.

Appreciating the Osolo of Isolo for the great role he played in reviving the glory of the community, Chief Orilowo also appealed to Lagos State Government as well as federal and state lawmakers representing the constituency for the construction of Oke-Ogbere community road to compliment the link bridge and add more to the socio-economic development of the community.
