The coach of Edo Queens, coach Grace Kurah popularly known as ‘Coach Mama’ came in to coach the club in an interim capacity after the second game in the Super 6 after the sacking of former coach, Wemimo Mathew.

Coach Mama said she is proud of the Edo Queens players because they played to her instructions as she hopes to see more improvements from the players heading to the Aiteo Cup.

“The three games handled by me were fantastic. I will tell you that my girls are good and have been able to listen to instructions. We played a better team in Rivers Angels in our last game. We tried to contain, mark, and not allow them play. When they win the ball, we try to express ourselves. I am so happy with what my girls did today because it wasn’t an easy game. Coach Edwin Okon trained me from childhood. To be able to match his team today, it’s a pleasure.

“Now that I am charge, I am actually going to retain the girls because they are good. I will train them in the technical aspects of the game. We can’t change more than four or five players from the team. When the players stay together for a long time, we will see more impoverishment.”
