Man Sentenced to Prison for Stealing Rice, Beans, Pot and Spoon

Dare Adeogun has landed himself in Prison for stealing Cooking Utensils and some food items. He was escaping with his ‘Loot’ at a BRT bus stop in Igando when he was apprehended by Policemen and taken to Igando Police Division. ECHONEWS gathered, that the items recovered from him were a small cooking pot, a tin of tomatoe, some quantity of beans and rice, cooking spoon and other condiments which was stolen right in the resident of the owner. Adeogun confessed to have stolen the items, when he was questioned by the Police. Pleading, that his financial situation lead him to stealing. Added, that he was on his way home to cook the food stuff, as he was very hungry. After interrogation, he was charged before the Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ejigbo with Possession of items suspected to be stolen. He pleaded guilty to the charge. The Prosecutor, Mr. N. Simon asked the Court for short adjournment to present facts of the matter for the Court to sentence him accordingly. The Court ordered Adeogun to be remanded in Prison Custody pending when the Prosecutor will present the Facts of the case, after which; he would be jailed. The Presiding Magistrate, Mr Akeem Fashola adjourned the matter.
