Man On Trial For Stealing Generator Set, Pressing Iron

A suspect identified as Bright Chisom is facing trial over allegations of theft of a generator set and pressing iron in Ojo Lagos.

Chisom was also alledged of stealing a gas cylinder, clothing materials and toast machine, as submitted by the prosecutor, ASP Simon Uche, at the Ojo Magistrates’ Court.

Uche mentioned that the 28-year-old suspect is on trial on a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing.

The prosecutor said: “Chisom committed the offence with others who are now at large on October 2 at Shibiri area of Ojo, Lagos.

“He stole a Tiger generator valued N120,000, a 12.5kg gas cylinder valued N60,000, two pressing irons valued N25,000, a toasting machine valued at N25,000 and clothing materials valued N11,000.

“The total value of the stolen goods is N241,000 all belonging to the complainant, Kadijat Oyinlola.”

Uche also stated that the offence contravenes the provisions of sections 287 and 307 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty.

Presiding Magistrate, Lateef Layeni, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The matter was adjourned till November 18.
