The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency, LASEPA, has sealed churches and hotels in Ojo area of Lagos due to violation of environmental laws.
According to the agency, four churches alongside four hotels, an event centre and a recycling company have been closed up in the area.
LASEPA listed the violating firms as: Rockslide Gospel Church, Unique Caesar and Bar, Recycling Company, New Yorker Hotel and Flex Bar & Spa Hotel.
Others are Mountain of Faith International Gospel, Jesus International Christian Church, VLC Donald Restaurant & Event Centre, Zion Believers Church and VLC Donald Hotel.
The agency added that the offences contraven the State Environmental Laws, 2017.
LASEPA disclosed that it will continue to intensify it’s efforts to protect and strengthen the law put in place for serenity in the metropolis.
General Manager of the agency, Babatunde Ajayi said, “We will not hesitate to take necessary actions against any establishment that fails to comply with the state’s environmental regulations.
“We urge businesses to take responsibility for their environmental impact and work with the state government to create a better future for Lagos.”
