Fatodu Believes Dazzle FC Success In Denmark Will Inspire Lagos Grassroots Clubs

The Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC), Mr Lekan Fatodu is impressed with the success of Dazzle FC club and their accomplishment in the Dana Cup competition which was held in Denmark which he believes will further encourage other grassroots clubs in Lagos.
Dazzle FC U12 team made history as they won the Dana Cup U12 category in their debut appearance while their U14 side were placed second in the U14 category.
Fatodu said it’s a standard laid by the President of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu to reward any team or athlete that has brought international recognition to the country and he has deemed it fit to emulate it at Lagos State Sports Commission.
He highlighted that the achievement of Dazzle FC will ignite a ripple of inspiration that will encourage other grassroots clubs to work harder in order to achieve positive impacts.
“The ecosystem, actually champion by the President is such that when you do well, a grateful state and nation receive you, this is the manifestation of that word this morning,” he said.
“Without statistical information, your group is just a drop in the ocean when we talk of over 22 million population in Lagos and 200 million in Nigeria. Imagine when the drop creates a significant ripple. That is what you have done and that ripple is what is going inspire other people.”
Dazzle FC Won all matches in the Boys U12 (7v7) category, scoring 56 goals and conceding only 6, including a 17-0 win over SV Schwansen and a 2-1 semi-final victory against Brazil’s RS Sports.
Their U14 player Toheeb Ojerinde was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament.
