In order to create a peaceful and harmonious environment where sanctity of life will be protected and business will thrive unhindered, Oshodi-Isolo Local Government under the administration of Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede as Chairman is ready to setup a local vigilante group.
This will assist the security agencies in curbing the menace of cultism and cult clashes within the local government.
Echo news reports that on 24th, October 2023, the Chairman had received the United Youth of Mafoluku in his office, a move to fish out the bad apple among the youths causing mayhem in the community.
Our correspondent gathered that a youth walk was staged to sensitize the youth about effects of cultism and how it can lead to their untimely death.
The Chairman made the intention to set up the vigilante group to combat insecurity in a commendation to the youth who had earlier staged a walk for a peaceful and united community.

The Oshodi Council Chair, via a press release made available by his media office, expressed happiness at the resolve of the youth to partner with the local government in putting perpetual end to the ugly tide of continuous cult clashes within the local government.

According to the council chairman, creating a vigilante group would be in addition to other security measures put in place by the local government. The vigilante group will be registered and will be well equipped with vehicles and other security gadgets to aid their smooth operations and make the local government safer.

When I received their representatives in my office, I pledged our support to them, encouraged the move and gave them our total backing. I was particularly happy about the love and spirit of brotherhood that now exist amongst them. I reminded them that we are all brothers and Oshodi-Mafoluku is our home.

In continuation of the effort of our administration and in support of the walk aimed at sensitizing the youth, we shall set up a Local Government Vigilante Group which will be registered and will be equipped with vehicle and other security gadgets.
