One of the councillorship aspirants under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ajao Estate, Adeolu Ikugbayigbe, has explained that his aspiration is centred around repositioning his ward by facilitating developmental infrastructures into the community.

Ikugbayigbe, a Medical Microbiology graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University decamped from People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to APC after losing to the incumbent councillor, Hon. Magnus Childiebere in 2017.

He explained that with his wealth of leadership skills, exposure and political knowledge, he intends to maximize the influence of the office to facilitate development in all sectors into his ward if elected as the councillor in the local council poll next year.

“I have been a resident of this community for almost two decades and I’ve been part of happenings since then. Beyond any reasonable doubt, as the commercial hub of the constituency, Ajao Estate should be the face of the constituency in the area of infrastructural development and youth empowerment but, it is unfortunate that we are far from that position. With my exposure to governance in other countries and my leadership skills, I will ensure I use the office judiciously to facilitate growth into my ward in all aspects to make sure we regain that respect-commanding status.

Meanwhile, he refuted the claim that he defected to APC because he needed a viable platform to achieve his ambition having lost out in the last election.

He said he and his numerous supporters decamped to the All Progressives Party in 2018 because they shared in the greater Lagos vision of the state government and wished to contribute their own quota to the achievement of the vision.
