Nigerian singer Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has said she would end a serious relationship if she became attracted to another man rather than remain with her current partner while dating someone else.
The singer shared her view while responding to a woman facing a similar dilemma on the Ask Ayra Starr show.
Ayra Starr said that if she found another man more attractive while in a serious relationship, she would first end her existing relationship before pursuing the new one.
“If I’m in a serious relationship with a guy and then I find another guy more attractive, I would break up with him instead of dating both of them at the same time,” she said.
The singer added that she believes a person may need time away from both relationships to properly understand their feelings.
“I don’t think you can love two people. I think you need time to yourself so you can figure it out,” she added.
Addressing another question, Ayra Starr advised people not to abandon their friends simply because they have entered a romantic relationship.
She stressed the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between friendships and romantic relationships, while warning against partners who try to isolate their significant others from friends.
“You should never abandon your friends because you are in love. Your partner should not isolate you from your friends because you are in a relationship,” she said.
She added that both friendship and romantic relationships should have a place in a person’s life.
