Ghetto Tigers Ladies Target NWFL Premiership Promotion – Azeez Mustapha

The Team Manager of Ghetto Tigers Ladies, Azeez Mustapha has expressed strong confidence in his team’s ability to secure promotion to the NWFL Premier League as the 2026 NWFL Championship season begins.

Mustapha emphasized that real preparation is only validated by the final result, stressing the importance of finishing the season with the promotion ticket.

“Preparation for the championship is only accessed by the end result. You cannot beat your chest that you have prepared until you are the one hold the ticket at the end of the season,” he said.

He acknowledged the tough nature of the competition, noting the presence of several quality sides in their group, but expressed 100% belief in his players determination.

“The group has quality teams and it will be a big battle. But if the goal is the ticket then one must have been ready to battle all 16 teams for the ticket. It will be a difficult battle but I have 100% confidence in the will of the players to finish top of the group and subsequently be the promotion ticket.”

Mustapha further revealed that Ghetto Tigers Ladies will stick to the same ambitious plan that guided them last season.

“It’s the championship. The plan remains the same as last year. Win our group. Win the playoffs. Get the premier league ticket.”

The Lagos based side will compete for the two promotion slot at stake in Calabar.
