In the Ejigbo LCDA area, voters who spoke to our correspondence said they were satisfied with the election process and deem it peaceful except for some arguments which have been settled amicably.

The Community Development Committee (CDC) chairman in Ejigbo LCDA, Prince Jelili Atiku described the election as orderly and impressive.

“The electoral process and voting has been peaceful, so orderly and fantastic.

“I’ve monitored the whole Ejigbo to ensure we have a smooth and peaceful governorship election and I’m really impressed that no violence has occurred in Ejigbo and I’m sure no violence will be recorded till the end of the election today.

“I want to commend INEC for arriving early to the polling units, this also motivated people to come out to exercise their franchise.”

Speaking to ECHONEWS, Habeeb Anibaba an influential figure in Oke-afa ward at Ejigbo LCDA after casting his vote said he was impressed with the election process but admitted that there was low turnout of voters compared to the presidential election.

“The election has gone well to an extent only that we have some set of people that came to disrupt the proceedings and some people were arrested and those that were arrested are the wrong people.

“Voters turnout is low compared to the presidential election and probably they expected the INEC staff to come late like the presidential election and we are still expecting more people,” Anibaba said.

Remi Davies who also exercised his franchise at Oke-afa ward described the election as impressive.

“The election has been impressive, we started very early at 8am, the turnout has been impressive. Though initially, we had some hitches but it has been resolved by the security agencies and we are safe.”
