Ejigbo LCDA erects hurdle to prevent heavy trucks, trailers at Coker Junction

By Felix Kuyinu

In response to the calls made by residents of Lafenwa, Ejigbo as regards a potential damage that could be caused to the roads in the area by heavy trucks and trailers, the Ejigbo LCDA has yesterday completed a planned road barricade exercise to prevent the trucks from damaging the road recently rehabilitated at Coker Junction.

Prior to the commencement of the road barricade exercise, the residents around the area  expressed their dissatisfaction at how motorists and others plying the road for their daily – heavy truck and trailer drivers to be precise, drive ‘irresponsibly’, which according to them might lead to the road being damaged in no time.

Reacting to the gesture, the residents appreciated the Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Monsurudeen Bello, noting that the new measure would help ensure the road is motorable for its users for a very long time as ‘reckless’ truck and trailer drivers would be prohibited from continuing plying the road.
