An abandoned Police station in Ejigbo, was taken over, on rental by a popular church in Ejigbo. According to the reports, the church, Living Faith Ministry, was alleged to have rented the station located at Omiyale Street in Ejigbo and converted it to a worship center.
Religious activities were said to have been conducted inside the station over the last five years with the Pastor in charge allegedly paying a monthly fee to subsequent DPOs who had served under the Ejigbo Division.
It was gathered, that the residents of the community voiced out their displeasure at the development, the state of the Police Station and the spike in crime within the area, Armed Robbery, Cultism and Burglary, because of the non-functioning station.
The residents bemoan the unfortunate incident of the Police station, to have been built and rented out to a church at the expense of the safety of life and properties of residents of the area.
Subsequently, the current Police DPO of Ejigbo Division, requested, that the church move camp and allow the station, to serve its original purpose. ECHO NEWS gathered, that the church has moved out their properties from the station, at the request of the current Police DPO.
