The Lagos State Governorship flag bearer of the Action Alliance political party, Hon. Tope Balogun has appealed to the State Government to address the grievance of members of the Joint Drivers Welfare Association of Nigeria (JDWAN) to put a stop to the ongoing eight-day strike action in the State.

The strike was triggered following an alleged extortion complaint by JDWAN against officials of Lagos State Park and Garages Management on roads in the State.

Balogun noted that the strike action has undoubtedly affected commuters despite being the most populous in the state.

He advised that the government should assure the public to regularize the toll collection while taking sporadic action to curb inadequacies in the system.

He said the strike would indirectly result in a tense economic situation for both the masses and the government as the masses are the intrinsic part of the source of Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the government.

He, therefore, advocated his candidacy as an efficient leader to help Lagosians change their status quo ahead of the still-to-come general election.
