Nigerian music star, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has become the first male artist to top Spotify’s newly launched Global Music Video Chart.
The Grammy-winning singer achieved the milestone with ‘Dai Dai,’ his collaboration with Colombian superstar Shakira for the FIFA World Cup, making him both the first African and the first male artiste to reach the top of the chart.
The achievement adds to an impressive run for the song, which climbed to a new peak of No. 13 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100.
Industry projections suggest the track could break into the Billboard top 10 next week following Burna Boy and Shakira’s performance during the FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show on Sunday.
‘Dai Dai’ also remains the most-streamed music video of 2026 on YouTube, with nearly 500 million views, and previously reached No. 1 on the Apple Music Global Songs Chart.
The success of the collaboration has also boosted Burna Boy’s streaming records. The singer has extended his lead as the African artist with the highest number of monthly listeners in Spotify’s history, surpassing 53 million monthly listeners.
He has also set a new benchmark on YouTube Music, becoming the African artist with the highest monthly listeners on the platform, with more than 600 million monthly listeners.
